Description: The subject of the invention is a procedure for the synthesis of nanotubes of dichalcogenides of transition elements, fullerene-similar nanostructures of dichalcogenides of transition elements and nanotubes of dichalcogenides of transition elements, filled with fullerene-similar nanostructures of dichalcogenides of transition elements. The procedure is characteristic in that the synthesis is run via chemical transformation of quasi-one-dimensional materials composed of nanowires with a diameter under one micrometre, described by the formula M6CyHz, such that 8,2 is less than (y+z) which is less than 10, where M is a transition metal (Mo, W, Ta, Nb), C is a chalcogen (S, Se, Te) and H is a halogen (I).
