Method for Improving the Bonding of Dental Silicate Ceramics with Composite Cements |
Description: |
The subject of the invention is a method for improving the surface properties of dental silicate ceramics to achieve better bonding with composite cements. The method is based on the treatment of the surface of dental silicate ceramics with a suitable combination of doses of neutral oxygen and/or nitrogen atoms and positively charged molecular and atomic ions of oxygen and/or nitrogen. By using the method that is the subject of this invention, it is possible to achieve better adhesion between dental silicate ceramics and composite cement, and to shorten the processing time compared to previously used methods. Additionally, by using this technique, we avoid the use of hydrofluoric acid, which is toxic and currently used for etching the surface of dental silicate ceramics in concentrations of 4-10%. We can also avoid the use of silane, which is used to improve the bonding between dental silicate ceramics and composite cement. The method thus allows us to prepare the inner surface of fixed prosthetic dental restorations made of dental silicate ceramics well and quickly before cementation with composite cements, which is one of the key factors for the long-term success of dental prosthetic care. |
