Title: |
Silver (II) Sulfate (VI) Hydrate and Method to Synthesize it |
Description: |
The subject of the application is silver(II) sulphate hydrate. It is the first known stable chemical compound containing simultaneously silver ions Ag2+ and coordination water molecules within a single crystalline phase. Silver(II) sulfate hydrate retains all the desirable characteristics of silver(II) compounds (i.e. high erdox potential, chemical activity in contact with hydrocarbons, etc.), while being resistant to water. The synthesis of silver(II) sulfate hydrate is carried out by controlled exposure of silver(II) sulfate to water. It is possible to expose silver(II) sulfate to steam, water or ice under controlled conditions. Silver(II) sulfate monohydrate uses silver(II) sulfate produced by any method. The best product is obtained using silver(II) sulphate with large crystallites, obtained by electrochemical method. Silver(II) sulfate hydrate can be used as a chemical reagent under normal conditions in an atmosphere of humid air. |
