Description/Usage: The magnetometer is used for basic characterizations of magnetic materials. The measured property is the dependency of the magnetic moment on the applied magnetic field. The results are usually reported as mass magnetization, moment per sample mass. Only the room-temperature magnetization curves can be obtained. The maximum applied magnetic field strength depends on the air gap between the pole caps of the electromagnets (see table). The air gap also defines the sample-access space.
