Topics covered with this call for proposals: The prize aim at spurring the development of engine and power train technologies using conventional fuels to reduce emissions of pollutants in real driving conditions to the lowest level possible, in order to improve air quality issues in European cities. The prize will be awarded, after closure of the contest, to the contestants who in demonstrate a solution that best addresses the following cumulative criteria: demonstrate the reduction of emissions of NOx, particle numbers, CO, hydrocarbons in real driving down to the levels that will be defined in the prize regulation specifications and according to the weighting methodology defined therein, while ensuring low levels of undesired non-regulated pollutants. Performance will have to be demonstrated by providing a complete vehicle for real drive testing. . This will allow verification that such retrofitted vehicles will have much lower noxious emissions in real driving than equivalent vehicles currently on the road. The implementation of the technology will extend the life of retrofitted vehicles while greatly reducing their impact on the urban environment and could allow city authorities to consider measures to encourage their use to solve air quality issues. |
POGOJI SODELOVANJA
The contest is open to all legal entities (i.e. natural or legal persons) or groups of legal entities. Please note however that special rules apply for Israeli entities8 and for Crimean legal persons and that entities from non-EU Member States that are covered by Council sanctions are not eligible to participate9 (see General Annex C to the Main Work Programme). Moreover, applicants that have already received an EU or Euratom prize cannot receive a second prize for the same activities.
