The simulator system is for teaching operation of a real reactor system and comprises a hardware console (1) with buttons for controlling simulated control rods and warning lights connected using suitable connections (2) to a microcontroller (3) and a computer with a screen (5) connected to the microcontroller (3) via communication means (4). The software comprises a thermodynamic model simulating heat transfer from fuel elements and the effect of heat on the simulated reactor, and a physical module solving point kinetics equations with fuel temperature and moderator temperature feedback effects for real-time simulation of the reactor core. |
